Book Review: Bella Di Corte "Machiavellian"

Bella Di Corte is a new to me author whose debut novel is Machiavellian. I'm not a reader for the mafia genre. However, I can say that I'm happy that I gave this book a chance. I truly enjoyed this mafia romance!

First thing first, what made me gravitate toward this novel was the cover! That cover is hot. Like the saying goes "never judge a book based on the cover", however, when dealing with a new author, I judge based on the cover. But Bella Di Corte, made an excellent job of attracting my attention both based on the cover and blurb.

Mariposa is a homeless butterfly girl needing a break. Her big break comes in the form of Alpha male Mr. Capo. Capo is a ghost who has vengeance in his mind. Readers are able to connect with the prime characters. They are both relatable to readers.
"Scars don't bother me. They only mean I've earned my place in this world." ― Capo
Bella Di Corte created two amazing characters whose love is palpable throughout the pages. Both Mari and Capo flourished throughout the storyline.
"Something moved between us, and I wasn't sure what it was. . .It consumed me like the most beautiful ocean, and then wrote his initials on my soul." ― Mariposa
This book was romantic, suspenseful, and emotional at times. A well paced plot-driven story with very enjoyable characters. I look forward to the next book in the Gangsters of New York series.

Book Review: Cassie Graham "Thank You, Next Chapter"

Thank you, Next Chapter has a little bit of everything that readers are looking for! Reading a dream come true novel. Fun banter, sweet romance, adventures, and quirky to the galore. I was able to read in one sitting. Definitely an excellent and adorable book.

The main characters, Sebastian and Zona, had me on the edge of my seat. The chemistry was pure perfection. This assisted with creating a positive flow for the plot and journey to thrive.

The love from Sab is beyond sweet and cute. Readers can help but fall in love with him. Zona is relatable and truly thrives in the course of the book.

Well written, never lagged, and it never bored me. I enjoyed being able to escape with Seb and Zona. Cassie has an impeccable ability to infuse dual POV with such ease and gives the reader a better insight to each character motive.

Book Review: Stacey Lynn "Hooked on Her"

Hooked on Her is the 3rd standalone book in Stacey Lynn's Ice Kings Series. It can be read completely as a standalone novel.

Definitely a brothers best friends trope that has the perfect ingredient of hockey romance. Stacey Lynn is quickly becoming a favorite author for me. I enjoy her characters. I love her writing flow and her uncanny ability to keep readers engaged. There is a natural progression when it comes to our main characters' romantic development.

Stacey presented emotion, a steamy hockey romance that I ate up from start to finish. The chemistry between Tessa and Jason was explosive and very tangible. I enjoyed Jason's uncanny ability to be in charge and protective over Tessa. So steamy!

This is a Friends-to-Lovers Romance. A slow burn with a quite a few very steamy scenes. I can't wait to read more in this series in the future.

Book Review: Willow Winters "Knocking Boots"

Knocking Boots is a very sweet easy-going book that is perfect for a relaxing read! A small town romance from Willow Winters, centered around Charlie and Grace. Lots of swoon-worthy moments, lot’s of super cute moments and of course lot’s of steamy moments that will make you blush.

Charlie is a bar owner that Grace frequents and they build a sense of friendship with a mutual attraction. When Charlie is invited to attend his sister's wedding, he begins a search for a date. When Grace fits the bill. She agrees to play the wistful and caring girlfriend.

One negative feedback is that I wanted to know a bit more about them, to really allow their life to the light.

Willow created a wonderful built storyline of a fake romance that turned into a one of a kind romance. Charlie and Grace added a nice little edge to their tale. No one can deny that the main characters added to the hot chemistry which made this novel a must-read.

Book Review: Mary Ting "Always Be My Baby

Mary Ting definitely scored with this story line. It has all the feels of first love in high school. Great references of movies, the pagers, and just overall greatness of what it was like in the 90's. Definitely a quick and light read for fun.

The chemistry between our main characters was light hearted yet fun at times. Cammy is finishing up college when she is heart broken. But what was once heartache turns into finding true love. What a sweet and adorable story! Short and sweet yet readers will get all the feels.

Book Review: Tillie Cole "Thoroughly Whipped"

Wow! Thoroughly Whipped, it's in its own bookshelf. I've read previous books from Tillie Cole, but this novel is different. Different but yet so much of Tillie Cole's writing personality. As a reader you ponder, what can't this author not write?

Thoroughly Whipped will provide readers a good old time. Heck you might just snort out loud and note even care. Yes, its a really fun departure from Tillie's usual dark and dangerous novels. This book gave me vibes reminiscent of Eternally North.

Harry & Faith will make you fall in love with their characters. Faith has an uncanny ability of being unfiltered but yet sweet. Gets herself into quite the predicaments. Harry on the other hand, he is more of the reform kind of gentleman. Needing to break free from the mundane, the more he spends time with Faith. . .the more he finds true self.

I loved the development of the relationship between our two protagonists. The only negative comment I do have is that this storyline didn't feel quite the usual word flow compared to Tillie's other novels. Yet, it was still very entertaining, Readers are in for a treat to witness Tillie's work in a new genre.

Book Review: Carian Cole "Asher"

"Asher" is a poignant portrait of faith and doubt, love and grief, heartbreak and hope. A pure definition of the word marriage. No marriage can compare to this one.
"Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it."  ― Nicholas Spark, A Walk to Remember
As I read this book, I often reflected back to this quote.

It is the ultimate embodiment of "For better or worse". Asher shows what truly means to have devotion and dedication to one person. Even if that person no longer remembers him.

This story is just not about the perfect husband or the triumphed love.

It is about the raw, difficult, beautiful, heartbreaking, powerful journey that a family must endure to reach some sense of solace and new normalcy.

I felt everything as it was happening page by page. My heart shaded tears of heartache and frustration and. . .hope. I felt all of it.

Asher and Ember's love for one another is palpable, and we know the first act of their story of the falling in love but now we must see them as they face various obstacles in their relationship―including some that seems as if they'll end before rekindle-ling any form of a relationship.

Many emotional wrenching scenes throughout the story that depict the difficult of trying to come to terms with the current situation. At different point, we see Ember crying from the pain.

"Asher" is an incredible powerful story about faith, but it's also an incredible heartbreaking story. It shows that with a work, dedication, and hope any relationship can be rebuild.

Book Review: S.L. Scott "We Were Once"

This second chance romance. . .no scratch that. . .this story is about first love.  It's friends to lovers. Enemies to lovers. A truly raw and real and filled with pure honesty.

A book created with a rollercoaster of emotions. At times, I found myself laughing and, other points, I was crying hysterically. The happy and the heartbreak truly made this storyline a special one. Definitely, a rollercoaster in the best possible way.
"You're more than I could have asked for. The other half of my heart that I've been missing." ― Joshua
Our male protagonist, Joshua was a spectacular character. His feelings for Chloe ran deeply. He showed her the light of life and all the possibilities within her reach.
"I never saw love coming, but I feel it sweeping in like a summer thunderstorm - the dewy scent, the change in the air. I want to dance in his rain, to become one with this man. Laugh. Love." ― Chloe
Chloe's perfect life was planned before she even knew. A cruel father wanting his daughter to become a doctor like himself. But once Chloe came face-to-face with Joshua. . .everything changed!

We Were Once have woven a place in my heart forever. Such a beautiful love story, heartwarming and heartbreaking, full of emotions, romance and angst.

Book Review: Corinne Michaels "Fight for Me"

I can't get enough of these Arrowood brothers!!

I was captured from the first book in the series. And I couldn't wait to read Declan and Sydney's second chance romance story.

Corinne Michaels wrote a beautiful story about a second chance love that will steal your heart. It was filled with so many emotions and feels. Their past plays a major role in all their stories but it's their story of healing that you will feel in your soul.

"I love her more than anything in the world, enough to let her go."

Childhood sweethearts and couldn't have been more in love with each other, readers are introduced to Declan and Sydney. Believing nothing would ever tear them apart soon Sydney is proven wronged. Declan breaks up with her and leaves town for good without looking back.

Until now. . . and Sydney unable to move on or understand why Declan left in the first place maybe now is the time for answers. Now that he's back in town. . . let the angst begin.

"This is a love that's strong, been through hell, and has found its way back to heaven. We've battled and won. She's the prize. She's everything."

Fight for Me tells their story and it is fantastic. I just loved getting to know them and see their love resume and grow. Their chemistry and love cannot be denied but can Declan disregard his past and family secrets for the one he truly loves?

I love a good second chance romance and I can't get enough of Corinne Michaels writing. It truly warms my heart when there is history and seeing the characters overcome obstacles from their past and grow together to rekindle their romance. This book had it all!!

Fight for Me was such a win for me and I can't wait to read more of the Arrowood brothers. Looking for an emotional, steamy, and angsty read, check this one out!

Book Review: J.T. Geissinger "Beautifully Cruel"

Holy Sh*t!!!
Definitely a must read for 2020!!

Beautiful Cruel is a brand new stand alone romance by J.T. Geissinger. This book took me by surprise. I had a good idea going in about the story line but bravo to J.T. Geissinger able to add a component of element of surprise. Wow! I devoured this book within 24 hours of receiving it. I loved it. šŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’—

Truvy (Tru) Sullivan is twenty four year old. She's in her final year at law school in Boston and works as a waitress at Buddy's Diner. For eleven months the man in black whom Tru has nicknamed The Wolf, has been coming in to the diner. He sits and drinks a cup of coffee while staring at her, then he leaves. Tru has no idea who he is or why he keeps coming in why he keeps coming in, why he never talks to her. But then, he saves her. She had no idea who he was. But in his arms, she somehow just knew she was safe.

"You can curse all you want, wolfie.
It does nothing to change the fact that I trust you."
― Tru, Beautifully Cruel

There is only one word to describe this book, ADDICTIVE! I couldn't get enough of Liam Black and all of his broody sex appeal. It definitely made me want to find my very own wolf. Liam Black is the epitome of alpha male like no other. Move over Christian Grey, there is a new hottie in town.

"How deeply satisfying it feels to protect her.
No, more than satisfying―fulfilling.
As if it were the thing I was born to do."
― Liam, Beautiful Cruel

I appreciate J.T. Geissinger ability to create a such a female heroine like Tru. She is one fierce cookie, that has a "take no prisoners" mentality. Get it gurl! And honestly, Tru may easily be one of my favorite heroine to date and trust me that is saying something. There is just something to be said for a woman that's shy but has a sharp tongue, ball busting attitude.

"I don't know what kind of women you're used to,
but my mother didn't raise a worker bee.
She raised a queen."
I stare at him without smiling.
"And I don't give away the honey for free."
―Tru, Beautifully Cruel

Don't just take my word, trust and take a leap with this one. You won't be disappointed.

Book Review: K.K. Allen "Through the Lens"

This is my first book I am reading from K.K. Allen and it won't be my last one.

I truly love this books. I was impressed by K.K. Allen's writing style. It is quite addictive and fabulous. The witty banter, sassy character, and wonderful scenes that add to the slow burn romance. I couldn't put this book down for a minute. It definitely drew me in from the first page.

Through the Lens is a beautiful story of two broken people who found each other even within their flaws. It teaches many valuable lesson of the meaning of true love. And that the outside exterior is not everything, but being able to write your story together beyond that will create the most unique one of kind love.

K.K. Allen definitely acquired an exquisite story about a love that moves and makes a girl believe that true love is out there.

Book Review: Leddy Harper "Throne Away"

OMG, this is the cutest story I have read. A superb twist on a classic princess story. I will never view the Cinderella story the same way.

Ryan is a single father, a commoner who after a chance encounter falls for Moria. However, unbeknownst to Ryan, Moria is not just anyone, she is Princess Moria. And the rightful heiress to the crown of Queen of Ilunabarra. As they continue to spend time together, they realize one thing. . . .they have met before once upon a time in the past.  Is faith pushing them together? Or putting in front of them an unrealistic future?

Leddy Harper is a relatively new author to me. She had a well-written novel with an amazing cast. The characters were entertaining and you can't help but invest in them. The banter between Ryan and Moria had me laughing and truly enjoying the story-line.

Throw Away is a romantic love story that left me with a bright smile and my heart full of joy. It has all the feels, it's romantic, it has adorable characters and a plot that will have you swooning and believing once again.  I highly recommend it to all romantic lovers.

Book Review: J. Sterling "The Ninth Inning"

J. Sterling has outshines herself once again. Definitely a home run with "The Ninth Inning"! The best baseball book I've read in 2020. It was raw, emotional, sexy, and heartbreaking all in one novel.

In "The Ninth Inning", readers are introduced to Cole and Christina. Cole is living for his dream career of playing professional baseball. He has no time for a relationship, therefore, he let's go of Christina. Christina is done waiting for a future with Cole, so she does what any strong woman does and moves on. But will it be too late for a reunion once Cole knows what he truly wants out of life?

A well-written story-line with quite a few fun and sweet moments in between the pages. Angst, drama, humor, and love, which will have readers engrossed throughout this page turner.

I highly recommend it for all lovers of college/sports stories.

Book Review: Amy Daws "One Moment Please"

One Moment Please is a book that will touch you deeply and resonate with you long after you've finished. It will have you laughing, crying, and holding your breath page after page.

Readers are introduced to Lynsey Jones, child psychologist, and Dr. Josh Richardson, an ER doctor, also known as "Dr. Dick", whose natural comedic and witty banter will have you hooked. They meet while Lynsey starts to frequent the hospital cafeteria and turns Josh's world upside down.

This book is everything I hoped and true to Amy Daws writing styles. It's a comedic, drama filled, and romantic all wrapped into one heartfelt novel.

Book Review: Natalie Bennett "Renegades: Badlands Next Generation"

This novel is like no other story-line. Definitely a pure evil magical book. If a reader is into dark, wicked, magical (not Harry Potter like), and clusters of pure evil then Natalie Bennett made this book with you in mind. The two main characters made romantic magic occur. Star was definitely the perfect light to Luce darkness bravado.

Book Review: Trilina Pucci "Filthy Little Pretties"

Trilina Pucci has definitely outdone herself with this novel. It delivers angst, teen drama, amazing characters and a love triangle that had me hooked. Definitely delivers a modern day Dawson's Creek feels to.

The three main characters provided such an insanely addictive story. This is the story of Donovan, Grey, and Liam. Three best friends whose world revolve in wealth and power. Tested by the ultimate test of LOVE.

Liam was sweet and loyal, opposite to Grey's hard cold exterior and all consuming. Donovan was amazing and lucky to have both gentlemen by her side. I was cheering on both Liam and Grey since each one could give her a happy ending and a once in a lifetime love.

This book crushed my soul. Every single feeling was tortured during this book. However, I couldn't stop reading it! I had to know what was going to happen. Definitely a page turner. I never wanted it to end, but I couldn't wait to get to the end to see who was the chosen one.

It's a man's world.

When I declared sports medicine as my major and every man narrowed their eyes, that saying proved true. It was true when my ex-husband decided I'd give up my career when our daughter was born. And again when I divorced the Chief of Police in our small town, and he made it painfully clear that I could leave him, but I would never be free.

Landing the job as the new athletic trainer for Stratford's high school team is my chance to start over. And walking into a male-dominated sport and staff, I'm ready for the challenge.

I'm not ready for Jordan Becker.

The head coach of our championship winning team is a Herculean force of nature―as severe as he is determined. His icy blue eyes and permanent scowl drive the women in this town mad, and his quiet power and undeniable command conjure respect from every man.

When I join his team, I expect the doubt and anticipate the fight from him. And I get them both.

I don't expect to form a friendship.

And I never expect to fall for him.

My breath catches when those cool eyes fall to my lips. My body comes alive when his is near. And as those lines begin to blur, every warning bell sounds.

My job, my reputation are on the line.
And my ex is around every corner, waiting to remind me of his power.

It's a man's world, and if I want to survive, I can never fall in love with Jordan Becker.

Even if he falls in love with me first.

Book Review: Tabatha Vargo "Shattered Skull"

Sons of Anarchy has nothing on the bad boys and bikers known as Sons of Sinister.

Shattered Skull is book one in the Sons of Sinister series by Tabatha Vargo and it''s a page turner. The main characters are Aiken "Skull" Cross and Everly.

When tragedy strike Everly is uprooted from the life she knew and moved across the country to live with her mother and brother who are up to no good. A chance encounter brings her to the attention of the badass biker boy and Sons of Sinister member, Aiken "Skull". He knows that she doesn't belong in his world, but he just can't stay away.

Aiken is no prince, often being cruel to Everly and making assumptions about her, until the truth is revealed. His imperfections and mistakes throughout the books made more realistic and believable as a character.

A heart touching story, sensitive narration and shocking twists and turns making it a shocking storyline.
