Book Review of What He Always Knew by Kandi Steiner

What He Always Knew is the second book to What He Doesn't Know. I am completely and utterly wowed by this duet. It's a rare occasion where both books guts you in the heart and soul, and you keep on wanting more. This is by far one of the BEST love triangle books. This is the best work I read since Molly McAdams, Taking Chances.

No one said love would be easy. If love were easy, then everyone would be in love.

What He Always Knew is a story about choices. Yes, we have the love story, but it's so much more than that. It's about understanding once need and desire, and ultimately making a choice.

"My heart was forever severed, destined to exist in two equal halves—one with each man. But one half beat stronger, one half had the vein that ran deepest, and one half held my choice in silence well before I ever admitted it out loud.

The other half would always be a part of me, but in a softer way—a more subdued beating, a quieter presence, a different kind of life support.

A different kind of love."

I can guarantee you that you haven't read a love triangle story like this one. You will be on this roller-coaster ride of emotion until the bittersweet. At times, you won't know who you are rooting for anymore. The lines begin to blur. It's complex, raw, full of angst, and it will leave you shattered for days. It will make you FEEL EVERYTHING!

THIS IS HOW YOU DO LOVE TRIANGLE!!

Welcome to the famed resort, The Hathaway at Dragonfly Beach, where newlyweds come to honeymoon, where anniversary couples celebrate milestones, and where broken hearts find a place to heal.

After her best friend is jilted at the altar, maid of honor Lilly Durand whisks the bride to Dragonfly Beach and its legendary hotel, determined to help her overcome her misery. Lilly won't admit it, but she's hurting too. During the few days of pre-wedding festivities, a powerful attraction had grown between her and the handsome and confident best man, Alec Thatcher. Now she'll never see him again, but she's decided to consider that a good thing. This way her inconvenient crush can't turn into something so dangerous as love. But then, to her dismay, she discovers Alec is just a room key away at what some call the Heartbreak Hotel.

Alec Thatcher doesn't have time or inclination for long-term romance. Serial dating has suited his confirmed-bachelor status just fine―until he meets Lilly Durand and his world turns on its axis. She claims to be as relationship-averse as he, but when the two of them are together he can't recall his own reasons against commitment. Though Lilly touches his heart and soul, she's as cautious as she is sexy. With a stubborn streak a mile long, Alec will have to exert all his powers of persuasion to give Lilly her last first kiss...

Book Review of What He Doesn't Know by Kandi Steiner

WTF!!! (Pardon my French.)

I finished reading WHDK two days ago...however it also took two days for these simple words come together to create this review.

Two days ago my life came to a crippling halt. WHDK completely wrecked me!!

Kindergarten teacher Charlie is miserable in her marriage, and has been for quite some time. The avalanche of past event taking its effect on the once young and hopeful newlyweds...even 5 years afterwards. But definitely relatable. Then walks in Reece back into her life in the last place she ever imagined seeing her best friends brother, the boy her teenage self once loved. Back again to their home town Reece is now teaching music at the same school. As they rekindle a tentative friendship, Charlie begins to live the youthfulness she once carried. Rekindling the once love that was prohibited.

Faced with the threads holding together the marriage is unraveled, Charlie and Cameron's marriage snaps. And Reece is there to comfort a very tired and liberated Charlie.

With one simple word the trajectory of this story was changed forever..."Okay."

Followed by the most unexpected twist of all time. They say there is three sides to the story, this one began long ago when a young girl fell in love with her brother best friend. But happily ever after is never easy when faced with the turbulence of the past knocking at your door.

This book is extremely GOOD!! Move over world 'cause here comes Kandi Steiner to kick butt!!

"They say there are two sides to every story.
But this one, there are three."

All they want is everything they can't have.

Penny...

Yes, yes, I've heard the rumors.
The prince is royal, and cocky and has a—well never mind about all that.
The problem is, he's also my job.
When the King called on me to retrieve the wayward prince, I was ready to walk away.
Then I caught my boyfriend cheating—and suddenly leaving never felt like a better idea.

Sebastian...

I never wanted the throne.
When I left behind my glided cage of a palace, it all sounded so simple: find my long-lost brother & make him the prince so I don't have to rule the kingdom like my father expects.
Then I meet my new neighbor, and quickly realize I've found the queen of my heart—and bed.
Just one problem, I can't let her find out who I really am.

What good is a King without his Queen?

Sebastian...

I never wanted the crown, but now it's mine.
Instead of my freedom---instead of her.
But even though she's not mine to keep, I can't seem to stay away.

Penny...

The moment he became king, I knew we were over.
Now I've returned home some kind of conquering hero.
If only they all knew that we'd both lost our hearts.
If only I could stay out of the royal bed.

What good is being cocky if you can't get what you want?

Kyler by C.A. Harms Review

This is my first C.A. Harms book and I am beyond happy I took a chance on her work.
"Kyler" was an amazing, easy, and beautiful read.

I loved how the author portrayed both Ashlynn and Kyler's character. The tempo to their character development was spot on!

Now to the actual storyline, its a love triangle story. So if you love your drama then you are in the right place! No saving the drama for your lama here. lol. A little preview of the book:

"Do you know how hard it's been sitting on the sidelines watching you with the wrong guy, and being forced to just accept it?"

This one sentence gutted me to the core. I felt every emotional fiber and love that Kyler has for our girl Ashlynn.

Definitely a MUST READ!

Somewhere Bound Book Review

This is book 3 in a series and the first 2 books must be read prior.

What a connection between Jameson and Sophia. Swoon worthy for sure!

Where can I find my own Jameson?

What is there not to love about him? He is definitely a Renaissance man of this decade. The way that he envelopes Sophia in this protective force field is to die for. I thoroughly enjoy exploring just how much Jameson loves her. The chemistry is there for these two amazing characters.

I wish we could have gotten a bit further with the character development of Sophia. It quite was not up to part compared to Jameson.

Overall, it was an easy read. Love the overlaying layers of the pure, deep, and so in love storyline.

On the northeast side of town, there is a house.

The house was once magical, filled with love and joy and plans for the future.

Inside its walls are many things that belong to me — my books, the china from my mother on my wedding day, the beautiful cage once home to two birds, now empty, just like me.

And a man.

A man who also belongs to me.

A man I no  longer wish to keep.

A man who, no doubt, has not slept, though the sun is rising. Because the house where he waits is where I laid my head to rest every night for eight years. Until last night.

No one who knows me would believe Charlie Pierce, the quiet, bookish girl who never made waves is pulling out of the driveway of a man who isn't her husband.

But they don't know me at all.

I don't even know me.

Not anymore.

They say there are two sides to every story, and I suppose in most cases, that's true. But the one I live inside of? It has three.

On the northeast side of town, there is a house.

But there is no longer a home.

Left or right.

It's that simple, and it isn't simple at all.

If I turn left, the road will lead me back to the man I promised my life to, the one I'd imagined building a family with, the one who's done everything in his power to get me back.

If I turn right, the road will take me to the man I loved first, the man who brought me back to life, the man who would do anything to keep me.

I knew the fork in the road was inevitable; it was the decision I never wanted to make between choices i didn't know I had.

And I love them both.

My heart is destined to exist in two equal halves — one with each man. But one half beats stronger; the vein running deepest, and holds my choice in silence long before I know it for myself.

The realization of what I have to do, of the heart I have to break, just might break mine too.

Left or right.

All I have to do is take a breath and turn.
